Technical Advisor

The Microbiology Services Technical Specialist will serve as a key Medical Device technical expert for clients, prospective clients, internal groups & our sales team.  Other duties include:

  • Provide technical information, assistance, training and support concerning microbiology testing and study designs used to support industrial sterilization.
  • Work closely with clients to develop appropriate test methods and/or study parameters and coordinate with lab management regarding client testing issues.
  • Provide assistance with custom microbiology studies using multiple standard test methods.
  • Act as technical expert for industry & technical committees, key regulatory bodies and professional societies including USP, ANSI/AAMI/ISO, ASTM.
  • Stay up to date with regulations and industry trends, new test methods, standards, and changes in specifications/limits.
  • Assist with writing, implementing and maintaining standard operating procedures, method development, qualificiation/validation, laboratory documentation, technical guidlines & QA investigations.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations for internal and external company seminars and trainings.
  • Participate in relevant trade show meetings to provide technical support to clients and prospective clients.
  • Identify protential problems or areas for improvement and implement solutions. 

Qualified candidates will have a BS/BA in Microbiology or Biology or equivalent training and/or experience.  10 or more years experience in a regulated field.  Must have experience working in Microbiology lab.  Additionally, must have solid knowledge of the CRO, medical device and/or pharmaceutical and biotech industries.  Ideal candidate will have experience with Sterilization and Cleaning Validations for Reusable Devices as well as single use devices including Radiation and EO.
